DMT Recipes

topic posted Sat, July 8, 2006 - 9:42 PM by  Scott
So, I've been working in a lab for the better part of a year, and finally got up the courage to ask my boss about the potential for making DMT. He said no problem, as long as I can get a decent I'm looking for help here. I've never been this close to having access before, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Scott, dig into the erowid database. You will find what you're looking for.

:D and if you succeed, I will send you my po box number... :))))))))))

recipes are for cooks, DMT (if u want to do it right) is about alchemy...
Get an idea of whats involved, simplify it ten fold, and invoke a sacred space and utilise intuition...
start small, like i mean minute, then when u have the flow, increase it exponentially until ur comfortable with the scale...

Dmt is best conjoured in a natural setting through intuitive alchemy. The symbolism and story is all there, its just about getting the flow and being a vessell, rather then trying to control it, just let it happen and witness it happening through you..

What on earth are you talking about? Intuitive alchemy? If you have something to say, say it. Lay it out clearly and in detail. These obscure statements are not helpful.

Intuition and intentionality.....while not bad things, are no substitute for chemistry knowledge.

You could say that everything in the material world is's just magic that happens to work in a very logical way. Don't lose sight of that.

    • dmt is highly variable, in fact its variability is one of the things that makes conjouring its presence/manifesting it in the physical realm such a beautiful and spontaneous art form...

What im tlking about with intuitive alchemy is taking everything u know about chemisty (obviously u know enough to have been working in a lab for a few years) and then get a basic idea in your head of what process need to occur, then start experimenting and seeing what works... Dont follow a step by step written doctrine/recipe, but take what you know and start painting...
ITs really very simple but most people who try to follow a set recipe get completely lost by making it way too complicated or trying to follow someone elses complicated details..

Theres nothing obscure about what ive said and those who know this process and know that the artwork is in the variability will understand what i mean.. For those of you whom are un familiar with intuitive alchemy, perhaps the question remains "what on earth".
      • What you said was obscure, proven by the fact that only someone who already knew what you were talking about could understand it. This clarification helps a lot, though. I think I get what you mean, and I agree. You shouldn't follow a long list of instructions, rather, you should get an idea about what the processes involved are and then work out the details for yourself.
In my experience with amateur level chemistry, you often have to cut corners and improvise. You can only do that if you understand the principle on which the process in founded.

dmt is triptamin twice methylated..if that helps any

DMt is about GOD. It's wholly unnecessary. It'll teach you about the same thing you'd learn in Church. Nothing special. *shrugs*

^upon furthur review, this is not correct. It teaches you about spirit(GOD) and is defdinitely not a drug for atheists, and dare I say NIhilists? It's the "otherness", the "mystery" that draws me towards it though. Like you can take LSD and know that it's just a drug, or just a hallucination. With DMT, it's like "the ^*&^?!":)

could one use trimethylglycine? this is a substance that improves methylation in the body, leading to increased levels of SAM-e and many tryptamines like serotonin. it is a methyl donor.

        found this:

"As far as the chemistry of connection is concerned, SAMe is the master tuner. It donates "methyl" groups to make naturally occurring tryptamines. By methylating tryptamine, for example, it produces DMT. The body makes SAMe from the amino acid methionine and the cofactor vitamins B6, B12, and folic acid."

"The body can make SAMe directly from TMG [trimethylglycine], which is more stable and much less expensive than SAMe, making it a reasonable substitute."

Even if this isn't a help for synthesis, it is certainly a way to give your body the means to better produce its own, however small, supply. DMT levels are generally low in the human body, but I wonder if one might find a correlation between spiritually involved people and DMT levels... Might make SAMe and TMG a good support for meditation and spiritual practices.

          More connections:

          From TiHKAL:

[Tryptophan,] when administered with methionine [read, also SAM-e, TMG] (another amino-acid
know to methylate things) it produces methylated tryptamines, the two
best studied being N-methyltryptamine (NMT) and N,N-dimethytryptamine
(DMT). The effects that result are hard to categorize, reflecting the
the diagnostic state of the patient. But something happens. In short,
tryptophan, alone or in combination with MAO inhibitors or methyl
donors, is a fabulous tool for exploring brain function...........

Sounds to me like trimethylglycine use paired with dietery restrictions = double boost (?)

Optional: darkroom meditation for tripple boost - add physical exc. for turbo bonus 8)

          Hi dimitrij,

Can you tell us more about the dark room meditation?
Have you practiced it? Any good/bad results?

          Can you recommend references/authors?

add daily meditation and some form of cultivating intent (chanting, visualization, ritual) and you might be on to something.

First of all do you know what mateial you will be using to start this extraction? Mimosa Hostilus root bark would be your best best, no other bad alkaloids in there in the end product, and is offordable.

In order to better address some important (side-)questions which have been raised without further distracting from the original intent of this thread, I have begun a new thread titled neuro modulation. F.M., I would be most appreciative if you could add/repost your excellent comments there as well.

Thanks. Just to note, though, the TiHKAL entry describes synthesis, including a possible route that uses tryptophan and trimethylglycine.

        back on topic, shulgin suggests....

"Almost forty years ago a researcher in the National institute
of Mental Health, in Maryland, discovered an enzyme in rabbit lung
that could transfer a methyl group to a tryptamine from the amino
acid donor, S-adenosyl-methione. With this system, sorotonin gave
N-methylsorotonin, N-methylsorotonin gave bufotenine, trptamine gave
N-methyltrptamine, and N-methyltrptamine gave DMT. What a fabulous
black box that would make. Get two enzyme preparations, one that can
        methylate S-adenosyl-homocysteine to S-adenosyl-methionine and
another that can regenerate S-adenosyl-homocysteine by transferring
the methyl group to an available amine. Two catalysts in a chamber
heated to 37 C, with a spigot adding tryptamine at the top, and
another releasing DMT out the bottom. That's the science - I'll leave
        the details to the engineers."

I don't know anything about the appropriate enzymes,

Of course that's not to suggest I condone attempting exogenous synthesis or anything...

          Thanks for the post.

I just saw these on my way to finding some links to SAM-e and DMG for ADD/anxiety/OCD/depression/chronic pain/nutrition/allergies/tripping. Know you are talking chemistry and improving transmitter function to boost natural DMT production.
Autism is an interesting place to start.
Proper nutrition is the key and these two articles lay out some pretty interesting facts.
Apply to topic accordingly. Sorry if this is old news.

I am taking SAM-e and DMG in the mornings. For the very things listed above. Having amazing results.
Just added 5-HTP at bedtime. Every other day or as needed. Just found out about TMG and all that goes with that.
Dreams have been over the top. Energy is clear and focused. Messages are strong.
Thinking about adding DMAE (dimethyl-amino-ethynol) to the mix. I smoke pot for pain issues. Hoping it will add even more mental clarity .
NO prescription drugs. Only chinese herbs and tinctures. And anything else nature wants to put in my path...

          Anybody gone this route ?

Oh. For intuitive alchemy. Try here.

Highly suggest the Dreamtime Somalixir. Anything they do is amazing, though !
