The rabbit is wise.

Strassman's tentative conclusion, I believe, was that the cardiopulmonary effects may be caused by the stress/excitement of the experience, not by direct CNS action. It may very well persist or escalate, so this should be kept in mind. In addition, if one goes into the situation worried about physical effects, might that not increase the very excitement that is the danger in the first place?

I'd exercise caution and think it through carefully.

If one has medical concerns WRT blood pressure or heart rate issues, I advise them not to experiment with powerful entheogens. Not so much because of anything having to do with the substance itself but more to do with possible/probable adrenaline spikes during 'potentially' unsettling experiences. This goes for inexperienced psychonauts in particular. If one is concerned about potential health issues to do with sudden blood pressure or heart rate increases, one better leave DMT and particularly 5-MeO DMT be. Same goes for Salvia and a number of other powerful substances. Of course this puts MDMA, coke, speed/meth and anything containing ephedra/ephedrine high up on the list of no-nos as well.

Please pardon any poor or incorrect wording or grammar -I'm writing this in a very sleepish state.

SWIM is concerned about a past incident concerning their blood pressure/heart and use of DMT. (To make it clearer, in the past at one point they suffered a very real scare with their heart, but not due to DMT)
Upon reading in Strassmans' Spirit Molecule SWIM expressed great concern over the often encountered raising of pulse rate and blood pressure for some individuals and their sessions with DMT. Due to this my friend is abstaining from something they're eager to explore.

Could anyone expound on this aspect in the use of DMT? Have anyone you've known to use it had a very big or scary increase in pulse rate and blood pressure or was this aspect of it relatively mild?.... or perhaps not at all?

Any responses would be very much appreciated.
