Hello!
I'm very glad I found this community, I've been looking for a community similar to this for some time.
Many of you seem to know a lot about "Spice" and furthermore, you respect it (if you know what I mean) and that is something I value.
I'm new to everything psychedelic and have yet to try Spice.
The thing is, I live in Iceland and it's impossible (well, nothing is impossible, but HARD) to get a hold of it here. I was wondering, since I'm almost certainly going to see The Mars Volta perform in Camden, London on July 16th, if someone here would be able to help me in attaining my first ever DMT experience.
I realize what I am asking, but hope that someone here can help me or lead me to the right direction. If that person is here and would rather talk about it privately, I encourage you to ask for my e-mail or contact me through tribe.
Thank you

Mon, May 12, 2008 - 6:48 PMwhat the heck does Mars Volta have to do with anything?
If you have been 'looking for a some time, then you probally already know the scoop.

Re: I'm new to Tribe and all of this, but I have a request....
Mon, May 12, 2008 - 7:04 PMI'm sorry, but I don't understand your answer?
I have been looking for a community that discusses psychedelics, that's all I meant. And after posting this I came across this on the ayahuasca tribe, there was a guy there asking a similar question to mine and got this reply:
"I am sure you are aware that ayahuasca is illegal in the United States, because it contains dimethyltryptamine. a Schedule I controlled substance. Possession or distribution of ayahuasca is a felony. The only current exception is for members of a specific church, the Uniao do Vegetal, at their regular church services.
I am also sure that you don't intend to get any members of this tribe into any trouble with the law. But you have appeared here out of nowhere, with no history of participation in this tribe, no membership in any other tribe, no friends, and a website anyone could have put up, asking for referrals to a controlled substance. You might expect to be greeted with some reserve. "
After reading that I realized that I should have planned my first post better. Getting anyone (and myself included) in any trouble is the LAST thing I'm looking for.
I actually just made this tribe account today, specifically to get in touch with fellow 'psychonauts'.
And after reading this forum for a bit, I came to the conclusion that this is a welcoming community and I should be treated well here.
Anyway, like I said in my first post I'm from Iceland and want nothing more that to experience what you all have experienced.
I'm very sorry if this is forward of me or just plain ridiculous, but I don't know where else to ask. -

Re: I'm new to Tribe and all of this, but I have a request....
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 6:27 AMI haven't tried the spice yet either, but I love reading about it, and am learning (have learned, just don't have time to make it) to make it.
Phalaris (deoxy.org/phalarisdmt.htm)
This is a grass that grows everywhere. So, if you are a policeperson (I'm sure everyone here is ;))
Then good luck stopping this plant. -

Re: I'm new to Tribe and all of this, but I have a request....
Tue, May 13, 2008 - 11:08 AMHahahaha I'm not a policeperson, but of course I see why you would keep me at a distance, me being new and you know nothing about me. That's why I've decided to try as much as I can to be a part of this community in the hopes that someday, someone can help me in my search.
I also have been reading alot about spice and have many recipes that tell me how to make and extract the stuff, but I'm afraid to try it myself, having no one to guide me, nor know anything about the methods used.
BUT that will be my last resort if all else fails. I just thought I might get in touch with a goodhearted person that would "take me under their wing" so to speak.
The reason I mentioned that particular concert in my first post was only to make clear that I will be in the area between ca. July 14th - July 20th and I didn't mean no harm nor disrespect.
I hope that with time, I can earn your trust.
My search for the spice continues! -

Thu, May 15, 2008 - 9:40 AMBeginners are not always the (corrupted) law.
Patrick seems nice. I really know nothing about spice.
I have something better. Reduce the paranoia,
that's exactly what that debased human law wants;
communal paranoia. -

Re: I'm new to Tribe and all of this, but I have a request....
Thu, May 15, 2008 - 10:30 AMThank you Wormhole Charley :)
I truly understand their sceptisism and knew full well that some people here would pin me down as a cop, I just took a chance.
You people here, and only you, can understand my longing for wanting to experience this for myself. I find this to be the most fascinating thing in the world (I truly do) and that's because of the mystery and the "not knowing"-ness of it all.
My longing only increased after I read Rick Strassman's DMT: The Spirit Molecule, that book blew me away.
So, until we get to "know" each other better, are there any other books that you could recommend for me to read about this topic?
P.S. I'm not a native English speaker so you'll forgive my writing. -

Re: I'm new to Tribe and all of this, but I have a request....
Thu, May 15, 2008 - 10:53 AMYou write fine in English.
I read that book too.
Some of the anecdotal
transcribed experiences
are truly eye-opening.
That's the only book on
the subject I have read.
All sorts of literature work
fine too. -

Re: I'm new to Tribe and all of this, but I have a request....
Fri, May 16, 2008 - 11:04 AMThank you very much for the positive feedback.
And thanks for this site Larry: www.dmt-nexus.com/forum/ I haven't seen it before, It looks interesting :)
To dimi3: Yes I believe you're right about Iceland being good spice territory, so to speak, but I seriously think that there aren't that many people here that even know about it (I could be wrong though). I'd love to try it here in my native home. I haven't seen any ghosts myself, not yet at least. My mother, on the other hand, has often woken up in the middle of the night to find that there is a little girl standing on the other side of the room. This doesn't last long, she says, but she really doesn't talk about it.
As for it's legal status here, I must confess that I have absolutely no idea. I know that LSD is very illegal, I also read online that a guy from Iceland had been trying to order Salvia online, he got this message:
"Iceland
The import of all medicinal herbs requires either a doctor’s prescription or an import license from the health administration. In 2005, I received a report from an Icelandic person who said that he had filled out all the required paperwork, but that his request for permission to import Salvia divinorum leaves was declined on the basis of its legal status in Denmark."
So Iceland basically does what Denmark does regarding this stuff and I would imagine that DMT would be treated similar.

Re: I'm new to Tribe and all of this, but I have a request....
Fri, May 16, 2008 - 6:29 AMI am not surprised at all that you, as an Icelander, (may) have an interest in occult matters, the paranormal and otherworldly aspects as many Icelanders tend to do. Comes with the territory, no? Iceland would lend itself to some fantastic journeys I'd imagine. Seen any ghosts as of late, Patrick? I will be visiting Iceland this summer. Got any recommendations? :)
Say, what's the legal status on N,N-DMT and 5-MeO-DMT in Iceland? Are these substances scheduled, and to what degree? What type of legislation applies over there?
Cheers

Fri, May 16, 2008 - 8:08 AMI know sarcasm is hard to read on the net... So I want to say, I wasn't THAT serious about you being a po po...
I'm sure we'll all just have to stop making jokes about it... bad luck to joke about so serious a subject. -
