this was pretty exciting to see for me, its a program on 2012 and the mayan calender and i-ching etc. they brought up terence's time wave zero theory using the math of the i-ching vs. the mayan calendars predictions. great to see him out in the mainstream as we approach the prophetic date.

Re: Terrence Mckenna on History Channel!
Sun, April 26, 2009 - 11:21 PM"We are flesh which has been caught in the grip of some kind of an attractor that lies ahead of us in time, and that is sculpting us to its ends; speaking to us through psychedelics, through visions, through culture, and technology, consciousness. The language forming capacity in our species is propelling itself forward as though it were going to shed the monkey body and leap into some extra-surreal space that surrounds us, but that we can not currently see. Even the people who run the planet, the World Bank, the IMF, you name it, they know that history is ending. They know by the reports which cross their desks: the disappearance of the ozone hole [?], the toxification of the ocean, the clearing of the rain forests. What this means is that the womb of the planet has reached its finite limits, and that the human species has now, without choice, begun the decent down the birth canal of collective transformation toward something right around the corner and nearly completely unimaginable. And this is where the psychedelic shaman comes is because I believe that what we really contact through psychedelics is a kind of hyperspace. And from that hyperspace we look down on..., we look down on both the past and the future, and we anticipate the end. And a shaman is someone who has seen the end, and therefore is a trickster, because you don't worry if you've seen the end. If you know how it comes out you go back and you take your place in the play, and you let it all roll on without anxiety. This is what boundary dissolution means. It means nothing less than the anticipation of the end state of human history."
"This is not a dress rehearsal for the apocalypse. This is not a pseudo-millenium. This is the real thing folks. This is not a test. This is the last chance before things become so dissipated that there is no chance for cohesiveness. We can use the calender as a club. We can make the millenium an occasion for establishing an authentic human civilization, overcoming the dominator paradigm, dissolving boundaries through psychedelics, recreating a sexuality not based on monotheism, monogamy and monotony. We.. All these things are possible if we can understand the overarching metaphor which holds it together which is the celebration of mind as play, the celebration of love as a genuine social value in the community. This is what they have suppressed so long. This is why they are so afraid of the psychedelics, because they understand that once you touch the inner core of your own and someone else's being you can't be led into thing-fetishes and consumerism. The message of psychedelics is that culture can be re-engineered as a set of emotional values rather than products. This is terrifying news. And if we are able to make this point then we can pull back, we can pull back and we can transcend. Nine times in the last million years the ice has ground south from the poles pushing human populations ahead of it and those people didn't f*ck up. Why should we then? We are all survivors. We are the inheritors of a million years of striving for the unspeakable. And now with the engines of technology in our hands we ought to be able to reach out and actually exteriorize the human soul at the end of time, invoke it into existence like a UFO and open the violet doorway into hyperspace and walk through it, out of profane history and into the world beyond the grave, beyond shamanism, beyond the end of history, into the galactic millenium that has beckoned to us for millions of years across space and time. THIS IS THE MOMENT. A planet brings forth an opportunity like this only once in its lifetime, and we are ready, and we are poised. And as a community we are ready to move into it, to claim it, to make it our own.
Forewards and onwards unto glory ! !

Re: Terrence Mckenna on History Channel!
Mon, May 4, 2009 - 3:45 PMThanks Bro!
I actually had a physical copy of STC Alien Dreamtime and found this exact section at about 12 minutes into TWZ. Will do something really special with it (very likely in the next few days). Now I must sleep. Haven't slept since Sunday AM ;-) and then only a few hours on Sat PM. Basically I bust my chops on the art til I drop, then if I think of it I sleep and eat.

Re: Terrence Mckenna on History Channel!
Fri, May 8, 2009 - 1:10 PMIt's a nice rap......but I can't wait until 2012 comes and goes and nothing happens so people will shut up about it. To me it just seems like a modern version of the Christian "End Times" theology clothed in different language.

Re: Terrence Mckenna on History Channel!
Fri, May 8, 2009 - 3:05 PMI don't see Terence's rap as having anything to do with 2012.
He is describing the irreversible changes brought about by the revolution
in consciousness brought about through human interaction with psychedelics. -

Thu, May 21, 2009 - 9:55 AMHi MuRaka!
I just came up with that 'effect'. I'm going to call it "Fractal Filigree".
Filigree is differences between frames (so mostly black).
Then shrink and superimpose multiple times for fractal. -

Sat, May 23, 2009 - 8:01 AMheard of resolume?
will knock your socks off if not!
use version 2.4, i prefer... -

Re: Terrence Mckenna "Timewave Zero"
Mon, May 25, 2009 - 8:12 AMHi Shadoan,
Thanks for the heads up. The 2.4 is apparently only DL for Windoze.
I pulled down 3.0.x for my Mac. Looks interesting and will play with it.
I don't have 299 (pounds?/Euro?) at the moment bit if I see some
sort of VJ gig on the horizon I might spring ;-)
Meanwhile, looks like something fun to play with and explore!.

Tue, May 26, 2009 - 9:29 AMMotion Dive, a Japanese VJ program was the shit for a while (like around 2003). Don't know if they've updated/upgraded much. I used to use Arkaos as well. There's a bunch of em out there which I still have to check out... Fun stuff!

Re: Terrence Mckenna "Timewave Zero"
Tue, May 26, 2009 - 4:36 PMNot that scary! What do I wear under my Kilt?
Shoes and socks... Except I usually skip the socks.
In this weather don't need a shirt.
...So, it really boils down to a Kilt! -

Re: Terrence Mckenna "Timewave Zero"
Sun, May 31, 2009 - 12:21 PMAnother wrinkle ;-)
www.yooouuutuuube.com/v/
-----
yooouuutuuube takes any video and tiles it but staggers the rows temporally!
This makes for a rather disturbing experience (in the best sense of the word)...
Found this via our buddy Larry Carlson's site larrycarlson.com/wonderwallz.html
(specifically: www.yooouuutuuube.com/v/ ).
I thought he had built it out like this but discovered it is a "site-trick".
OTOH, when I was looking at his link I was totally going ape shit thinking "I CAN IMPLEMENT THIS!!!"..
After viewing my link and having the audio a bit muddled I might just start creating stuff like this.
Wouldn't be that difficult! Rather trippy effect all in all! -

Re: Terrence Mckenna "Timewave Zero"
Sun, May 31, 2009 - 1:38 PMgo through the velvet doorway.....
to awesome full screen visuals....
i like that when he stops speaking the music and visualls continue for a bit, because his voice is so damn hypnotic and then when he stops your still in the trance and then you can stretch it out and gork out a bit with the music and visuals... -

Re: Terrence Mckenna "Timewave Zero"
Sun, May 31, 2009 - 1:49 PMwow that yooouutuuube stuff is amazing, what a cool trick! -

Re: Terrence Mckenna "Timewave Zero"
Sun, May 31, 2009 - 3:21 PMI'm going to parse some of my stuff so it can do that raw and post on YT.
I use a cool app called ImageJ with tons of Addins and macro language (which I have mastered).
Matter of scaling and chopping the fucker and rederanging the stuff into Rows and columns with
appropriate lags. Love the fact that yooouutuuube allows setting differnt # rows/columns etc.
I tried the spiral and shuffle mode but the video didn't play despite the audio playing.
COOL stuff!!!! YEAH! Take any video and dynamically mindfuck it temporally parsewise !!!! YEAH!!!! -

Re: Terrence Mckenna on History Channel!
Fri, May 15, 2009 - 1:25 PMregardless of 2012, we are definitely experiencing some sort of crescendo that is accelerating tremendously.
it's happening in the realm of consciousness spilling into space from our hands and throats.
we really are aligned with this entire galaxy, because we are it.
will the crescendo reach a point, and have an orgasm?
or is every moment that point?
aye
